Yesterday when we were at gymnastics, AJ saw some Thanksgiving decorations on the wall and asked about them, and I presented him with a new word: cornucopia. He tried it on for size, asked what it meant and why, then moved on to other questions.
Today, out of the blue, he came trotting up to me as I was sending an email and said, "Mummy? What's a cornucopia?" I pulled up some images for him, and he kept up a running commentary: "Look! A cornucopia! There's another cornucopia. I really like cornucopias. Let's see some more cornucopias. Cornucopias are really really beautiful..." He was obviously savoring the taste of this fine new word.
Remember when words used to taste good?
