WEBSITE UPDATE: yesterday I added four more new videos to the main site's Videos page: Jamie's Easter egg hunt. He got a dozen chalk eggs and was completely into the hunt.
AJ and I are on antibiotics now too; he's a sick little boy and spends a fair bit of time dozing and moaning pathetically in my arms. Jamie, by contrast, is feeling much better and has been cleared to go back to school tomorrow - a good thing for all of us! He still has a good cough, but also a superabundance of beans - not uncommon for a little guy who has been sick for a while, but is now on the mend.
A dankly raining day today; good for holing up with a fleece throw, lemon-ginger tea and a good book (such as the new Wodehouse biography, which is very nicely crafted) on your lap. Or a baby with a chest rattle. The former is quieter, but the latter has the advantage of being very warm. Maybe I'll get the tea anyhow...

We're continuing to battle the evil cold virus here. Jamie's very high fever (which he'd had since Saturday!) broke early Good Friday morning. He still has a great deal of congestion and coughs a lot at night, but his energy level and appetite are gradually returning to normal. He has a low fever still, and continues on his course of antibiotics.
Meanwhile, Paul's still not over it; AJ fell victim at last yesterday and has all Jamie's symptoms from early in the week including the alarming fever. If he's not beating that by Monday, it's off to the pediatrician for him. And too many white nights have taken their toll: I have it too now, complete with mucky eyes.
So we all stayed put this weekend!
Paul and I watched Finding Neverland last night. For a yes-but-so-what movie, we agreed that we'd really enjoyed it; I was impressed with Johnny Depp.
The boys are getting big! For Jamie, I'm getting size 4 shirts and size 3 pants; his feet, which we had measured for his new blue sandals, are 8.5. AJ is past the 6-mos size; he wears some 6-12, some 9-12, and some 12mos-labelled stuff. (If it's rated to 18lbs, forget it!) I've shipped off a bunch of little-boy stuff to Jacqueline Chilton, who's expecting baby #2, a boy, on May 12, and a bunch of bigger-boy stuff to Colin and Jes for Ian Miller, who I fear may be catching up to Jamie in size. Meanwhile, AJ is kept well supplied by Ian's castoffs. Cheap postage in the US is great!
An anticipated Happy Easter to all.

WEBSITE UPDATE: last night I added six new videos to the main site's Videos page, and in the past week the gallery of kid photos for January through mid-March went up on the main website's Pictures section.
Jamie's been very sick since Saturday: a cold with cough and high fever has turned into an ear infection. He's still feverish unless medicated; we're hoping to get away for a day trip or overnight this weekend, but our plans are up in the air until we find out whether the boy will be up for it or not.
AJ spends a great deal of his time angrily backing away from his objectives across the carpet. He understands the idea of locomotion, but is missing a thing or two when it comes to putting the theory into practice. Given the constant work he's doing on it, and his almost minute-to-minute progress, I think he'll be getting around under his own steam shortly. (Not sure I want to think about the challenges of baby-proofing a house with a super-dumper two-year-old in it...)

Happy six-monthday AJ!

Tuesday, March 15, 2005
Such a long time has passed since I posted my last note! Lots of things have happened: Patrick's and Catharine's wedding (a fine and fitting event); a visit from our friend Jeremy Tankard; a trip to Kemptville, where the boys stayed with my parents while I joined Paul, Molly, Tom and Anne at Mont Tremblant for my first day of skiing in over a decade; and now a spell at home again.
We had perfect weather and conditions at Mont Tremblant, and I'm looking forward to my next chance to ski now that I've remembered how to do it!
Of course, now that I've finally sat down to writing, AJ has awakened and is sad. He had his 6-month checkup today and had two shots, which he didn't in the least enjoy. I'd better go and see to him...
